Abstract
At present smartphones have become the part of our everyday lives. This has insipired me to give an overview of how to manage databases with a mobile device. For the managing part the freeware mobile application Connect to SQL is used on the Android device.
In this thesis the author has given an overview of the usage of the Connect to SQL application. Thesis includes a guide on different methods of how to compile a query to the database. There is also a description of how the query is sent to server and how the results are shown.
In the result of this thesis a practical guide has been made for the Databases course in University of Tartu. The practical guide consists of different practical excersises which can be solved by using Android smartphone with Connect to SQL application installed. The excersises include tasks to create database and it’s table, insert data into it, compile queries to get data from tables and deleting of data in tables.
