Creation of a dialogue system using a web-based dialogue system framework

Abstract
The purpose of this Bachelor's thesis was to create a new dialogue system for the University of Tartu using a web-based dialogue system framework.
Some general information and history is included about dialogue systems. The work gives examples of dialogue systems that are in use in Estonia as well as around the world. A brief description is also provided about the working principle of such systems.
A new dialogue system was built upon an existing framework for dialogue systems, which was created by Margus Treumuth for his Doctoral thesis in 2011. The system focuses on people applying for studying in the University of Tartu and attempts to answer their questions.
After the system was developed, it underwent a series of tests and the results were taken into consideration when developing the system further. The existing rules, according to which an answer is generated, were improved.
A short summary of its applications is also provided in the thesis.
A complete list of all patterns is included in the appendix of the work, as well as examples of conversations.
