Abstract
Good communication is based on unambiguous language. Avoiding offialese and using paronyms correctly makes text clearer and more understandable. The aim of this Bachelor’s Thesis is to make a program which can find officialese and paronyms from Estonian text and highlight them, because no known program like this exists for Estonian language. Thesis describes what are paronyms and officialese and explaines why it is important to use paronyms correctly and to avoid officialese. Thesis also gives examples of similar programs for foreign languages. The final section describes how the created program detects paronyms and officialese and which forms of officialese it is able to detect.
