Detection of Forged PDF Documents

Abstract
The aim of the present thesis was to create a software solution for detecting forged PDF documents. The software was designed to handle a large number of files and to display an assessment of authenticity for each file. If the source code of the forged PDF file contains information about previous versions, then all previous versions of the file are made available.
The software includes methods for identifying fictitious documents and for extracting images, text and hidden layers from PDF documents. The software is easily scalable for other file formats and an algorithm for detecting manipulated images was also added. The software was developed using Java.
