Creation of Upper Secondary School Elective Course “Linux and Raspberry Pi”

Abstract
Understanding different operating systems is important in informatics. The aim of this Bachelor’s thesis was to conduct a study material covering the Linux operating system and Raspberry Pi. The main focus in materials is on Linux distribution Ubuntu. The materials are highly practical so that students can get the hands-on feeling. The course consists of 32 lessons, each lesson is 45 minutes. The need of course materials in the Estonian language covering Linux, the conducting process of the course materials and conducted materials are described in the first part of the thesis. The second part of the thesis focuses on piloting the course in Estonian upper secondary school and the results of the teacher's self-analyses.
