Air quality monitoring is gaining more and more importance in today’s society, especially in Internet of Things solutions for both private homes and offices. On today’s market there are multiple air quality monitoring solutions for offer in different price ranges, and sometimes it may seem like the price is not justifiable. During this thesis an overview of some products currently on the market will be given and a cheap, but competetive DIY solution will be created. The DIY solution uses an ESP32 chip with a CJMCU-8128 sensor, which sends the collected mesasurements to a MySQL database through a webserver. In addition to a scalability analysis, the alternative solution will be compared to a commercial product in terms of precision.
