Abstract
This Bachelor’s thesis intends to give a general overview of the current state of informatics studies in Tartu County schools from grades 4 to 9 and dissect potential shortcomings. The thesis aims to assess in which form and extent informatics is being thaught and whether it is necessary to level the teaching between various schools. Moreover, it is brought under discussion whether informatics should be a compulsory subject in the national curriculum and whether programming should be apart of it. Answers to these questions are found through analysing public data from the schools websites and conducting interviews with informatics teachers and school leaders throughout Tartu County.
