Abstract
In the spring of 2020, teaching at the University of Tartu transitioned to online due to the coronavirus. As a consequence, the teaching had to be conducted unexpectedly in the form of a web lesson. During the next semester, distance learning was partially continued, but the lecturers could base their work on previous experiences and the instructions prepared by the learning support staff. It would be good to also include the evaluations of students so that the lecturers could consider the aspects that students deem important in web lessons. Students' attitudes towards web lessons have been studied outside of the University of Tartu in the past, but the results have been contradictory, which may be due to disciplinary differences. Based on that, the aim of the research was to find out what the students of the University of Tartu considered important regarding web lessons during the autumn semester of the 2020-2021 academic year and how the evaluations differed by faculties. To achieve that goal, a survey was conducted among the students of the Faculty of Sciences and Technology and the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Tartu. As a result of the study, important aspects for students regarding web lessons were found, and differences between the evaluations of students from two faculties became apparent.
