Creating an Elective Module Introducing Databases for Secondary School

Abstract
The aim of this bachelor’s thesis is to create a 10-hour elective module introducing databases for secondary school. As a result of this thesis, a digital textbook consisting of ten paragraphs was made. The first eight paragraphs of the textbook give the students elementary knowledge about databases and the process of creating databases. The last two paragraphs teach the students how to use database management system PostgreSQL with Python’s microframework Flask. In addition to the digital textbook, guidelines for classroom activities were created to help teachers teaching this module.
