TEKI: an Online Learning Platform for Upper Primary Students

Abstract
Online learning has become a mandatory part in everyday education, especially considering the current situation caused by COVID-19 pandemic. Despite there are many online educa- tion platforms available, there are still areas of improvement in making online learning available and seamless for everybody. Governments, for example in Estonia, have already declared strategies to address the problem. This paper gives an overview of the shortcomings of the existing platforms, including the comparison of popular online self-education plat- forms, and the motivation of developing, the development process, and the outcome of a new web based self-education platform designed for upper primary students acquiring basic education in Estonia.
