Abstract
The Belgian company Unifiedpost Group, listed in Euronext Brussels since September 2020, operates in 23 countries and combines several acquired companies in different markets, including Estonia's Fitek AS. Unifiedpost Group's goal by 2021 is to connect and bring all SME users from existing platforms, including Estonian arved.ee, to one service platform – Banqup – to harmonize brands, reduce internal competition and offer fewer but stronger products. The Estonian arved.ee application has many functionalities that are missing from the Banqup application. Banqup needs to have the same functionalities before migrating Estonian customers. However, before integrating these functionalities into the Banqup application, they should be transformed into the microservices architecture.
In this context, the master's thesis aims to determine how changes in architecture affect the test strategy and what should be changed to make the test strategy more suitable for the microservice architecture. In addition to the changes in the architecture, as a result of which the responsibility of the arved.ee team also changes, the test strategy is also affected by the introduction of the "Way of working" principles of the parent company.
The master's thesis highlights the changes in architecture and organization that affect the nature of testing and are the basis for changing the test strategy. The test strategy transformation process will continue throughout 2021 until all the microservices are ready for testing.
