Abstract
The main goal of this Bachelor’s Thesis is to provide an overview of database teaching in Estonian secondary schools in order to understand the current situation in Estonia and to dissect the structure of database teaching with problems and successes related to it. Furthermore, to get a comprehensive overview of the whole topic, this thesis covers the main reasons why databases are not taught in most secondary schools and what would be the conditions for integrating database teaching into informatics. A questionnaire was prepared and interviews were conducted with secondary school informatics teachers. The results revealed that the teaching of databases is not widespread in Estonia, but there are some schools where databases are taught successfully and thoroughly.
