Abstract
The aim of this master’s thesis was to create learning materials for PostgreSql based database course giving in University of Tartu to support student in the flipped classroom environment. Two research questions were set. First one – how to create study materials for flipped classroom environment. Second one – how do specialists working daily with databases evaluate materials created during this master’s thesis. After evaluating several educational learning material ADDIE model was chosen. In ADDIE model’s first step (Analyse) target student group was analysed, current learning materials were analysed and technical platform was chosen. Also evaluation method and licence type was chosen in the analyse phase. In the next step of ADDIE model (design) topics of the learning materials were set, learning goals for each topic were developed. Each main topic separated to the logical subtopics. In design phase also time consumption estimation for the learning materials and self tests were set – about one hour per each topic. In the third phase of ADDIE model (developing) actual work with learning materials and assessment took place. In the last ADDIE models step (evaluating) external experts were involved through the feedback form where asked to evaluate published learning materials. Collected feedback was analysed and conclusion was made – learning materials created during this master’s thesis are supporting student in flipped classroom environment. In last part of master’s theses author is giving
feedback to process of creating learning materials and pointing out limitations.
