Abstract
The aim of the study is to analyse prostate cancer treatment trajectories in Estonia based on electronic health records obtained from a 10% random sample of Estonian health databases (health insurance, prescriptions, health information system) from 2012-2019. The data was transformed into the OHDSI OMOP common data model and descriptive data analysis of risk cohorts was performed with OHDSI ATLAS web tools and MS Excel data tools. 778 persons with primary diagnosis were found in the data. The identification of risk groups and stage was possible in 52% of the participants. Of the local treatments, 46% used surgery and 37% radiotherapy. Hormone therapy was used by 63% of patients, and most of them used only one drug, 28% of patients received 2nd line hormone therapy. Treatment trajectories in Estonia based on electronic health records are similar of those based on international treatment guidelines.
