Web-based Game to Facilitate Learning Estonian Loan-words

Abstract
The aim of this Bachelor’s thesis was to create a web-based language game consisting of three different subgames for making learning Estonian loan-words easier. The game that was created should be suitable for middle school pupils, high school students and all language enthusiasts who seek to learn new loan-words or memorize them. The language resources used for creating this game included the lexicon of loan-words, a frequency dictionary and EstNLTK in order to add variety. The thesis also includes the explanation of loan-words and game-based learning, further explores already existing alternatives and describes the process of developing the game.
