Abstract
This Bachelor’s thesis aimed to improve the independent study materials for the "Databases" course at the University of Tartu by creating supplementary video tutorials on SQL. The thesis gives an overview of the database query language SQL, the factors that affect learning SQL and common mistakes made in SQL queries. Additionally, it discusses the importance of educational video tutorials and the principles of creating effective ones. The thesis provides an overview of the "Databases" course and describes the video tutorials and their creation process. Ten video tutorials were created and the course participants provided feedback on the first five tutorials. Overall, the feedback was positive, indicating that the video tutorials were helpful.
