Abstract
This thesis explores the integration of Microsoft Power BI and PostgreSQL, aiming to enhance the learning resources available for University of Tartu students. The primary goal is to develop comprehensive educational materials that illustrate the practical applications and synergies between Microsoft Power BI’s analytical capabilities and PostgreSQL’s robust database management functionalities. The thesis is structured into a theoretical study and a practical component. The theoretical part surveys the existing literature and technology frameworks, while the practical aspect involves creating detailed guides and exercises for data manipulation and visualization using SQL scripts in PostgreSQL and Power BI. These materials are designed to assist learners in effectively synthesizing theoretical knowledge through hands-on tasks, reflecting the integration's potential to improve data processing and decision-making processes. The educational content developed is anticipated to serve future courses, enhancing students' skills in database management and data visualization critically needed in the data-driven industries.
