Abstract
The aim of this master's thesis was to create a dashboard for visualizing regional economic data, providing local and regional representatives with a quick overview of the area's socio-economic situation, trends, and aiding in decision-making.
The dashboard consolidates data from various sources, utilizing publicly available information from national sources such as the Statistics Estonia, the Commercial Register, and the Tax and Customs Board. Developed using Python programming language and Streamlit software, the dashboard adheres to best practices in data visualization to ensure ease of use, clarity, and efficiency for the target audience.
User testing indicated that the dashboard effectively meets the objectives set by various users. It facilitates the collection and comparison of general regional information. Suggestions for enhancements primarily focused on the incorporation of additional filters for more detailed analysis, enabling the display of specific information regarding selected local governments, business sectors, or individual companies. Proposed enhancements for the dashboard's further development included integration with national information systems and the automation of data updates.
