Abstract
The SIM card-based Mobile-ID electronic identity solution used in Estonia relies on the SIM Application Toolkit standard to implement its functionality.
The aim of this work is to study how Mobile-ID uses the SIM Application Toolkit to provide its functionality.
Possible tasks:
- Study the SIM Application Toolkit standard and its features.
- Sniff and describe the communication protocol between a mobile phone and a Mobile-ID enabled SIM card (hardware to sniff smart card communication is available).
- Analyze the security guarantees provided by the protocol.
