There are many examples of cellular base stations being made with equipment such as a raspberry Pi and even with the BladeRF SDR either in areas with poor connectivity or simply to send 'anonymous' messages. The task of the student would be to create a Cellular Base Station using the HackRF.

◦ Should be able to send text messages for example between mobile phones
• Use the base station to....
◦ An ISMI catcher (proof of concept)
◦ Find a way to determine a user’s service provider (for example by capturing the ISMI of the device)
