Design of lightweight diffusion layers for block ciphers

Organization

Abstract
In this thesis, we will focus on diffusion (permutation) layers of symmetric key schemes. We will study near/almost maximum distance separable (MDS) codes. Our aim is to construct new or modified near/almost MDS codes which can be efficiently used in symmetric key schemes. Also optimization methods will be studied to implement the proposed diffusion layers.
