Abstract
The weights are the main resource for learning in artificial neural networks. Unlike traditional neural networks, Spiking Neural Networks (SNN) employ neurons whose inputs and outputs consist of binary events in time called spikes. This paradigm is based on the information processing mechanisms observed in the brain. The presence of time naturally in SNNs enables development of alternate methods for learning using SNNs. In this thesis, we will explore the learning the dynamics of spiking neurons to address relevant real-world problems.
