Abstract
The goal of this thesis is to estimate type II diabetes patients’ medical costs by using National Health Insurance bills data. An overview of type II diabetes, Estonian Health Insurance system and used National Health Insurance bills dataset is given. Type II diabetes patients’ annual medical costs are compared with other patients’ medical costs. An extra cost of type II diabetics is estimated and the reasons are examined.
